I think that the fact that the Emmys are so much more important to society than the nobel prize awards says a great deal about society in America. It signifies the lack of importance knowledge truly holds in America. Sure, TV shows are entertaining and a good way to pass time in our amazing and blessed lives but are they really more important than the nobel prizes? Nobel prizes are awarded to individuals who advance the world through technological and social change. Without science, without technology, and without the individuals who have earned Nobel prizes, we would have no TV. Without them, we would have no entertainment or any of the things that run our society today. While they may not be so entertaining to watch, we as a country should pay them the respect they deserve.
