The importance of a college education and the college
experience reaches far beyond the more advanced classes and better professors.
College isn’t just a continuation of high school; it offers an exponential leap
in a student’s life, both academic and social.
What excites me most about college is the people with whom I
will learn and live. I believe that one learns from their peers as much as
their professors. People from different backgrounds, studying different areas
create a unique environment for creative thoughts and new ideas.
The depth and breadth of study offered at college will help
me because I am not exactly sure what my major should be. Engineering is my
field of choice, but this broad field has a multitude of concentrations and studies
within it. By taking courses, conducting research, and developing relationships
with professors and other students, I hope to discover what excites me the most.
Student’s majors often become their careers, and the ability to explore more
specific fields in college than in high school allows me to better choose my
major. College will help me find my passion and connect me with an abundance of
creative, intelligent people.
