Assignment 3 - Isabella Matthews

Last Spring I went on a trip with my AP Art History class to New York City. It may not seem like that big of a deal but on that trip I discovered my love for the city and my desire to travel. Our schedule for the trip granted us a large amount of free time and the freedom to find our own lunch and dinner most days. I had been to New York once before on a trip that was highly structured and made sure we were always with our large group of 60 people following our itinerary and definitely never ever using the subway. When given the freedom to experience the city I realized how much I loved it. From the musicians practicing and sharing their music in the subways to the small parks surrounded by skyscrapers where you can sit for a moment and have lunch, it’s all too incredible for words. To think that so many people live in such a large city to the point where even in the middle of the night there are always so many things happening is unimaginable. New York is breathtaking and so is the feeling it can create within so many people.
