I have always been very involved in my church and especially the youth group. My youth group has been a major influence in shaping me into the person I am today. It has taught me to give back to the community and help those in need. Having gone on several retreats and conferences, my youth group has given me the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of people from all over the nation who share similar ideas with me. Being able to meet new people from different backgrounds has been an eye-opener. It has taught me to go out of my comfort zone to meet and talk with new people form different cultures making real connections. My youth group has taught me any valuable lessons like accepting people for who they are and has made me an overall better person.
