Assignment 6 - Matthew Kingkade

In 8th grade we took four nine-week elective classes. This was the first time I had a say in what classes I got to take. My favorite class I took was Sociology. At first I chose the class as an easy A, but as the nine-week period went on I realized how much I enjoyed it.

Although this was a very relaxed class I learned more than I thought I would. Throughout the nine-week period, we watched videos and did several projects. The most interesting project we did was breaking a social norm. In this project we had to go into public doing something people wouldn't ordinarily do. At first I thought it was stupid and that we were just going to make fools out of ourselves in public. Although we did make fools out of ourselves it was not stupid. This project really taught me that most of what we do is based on how we think other people will think of us. Since this class was only nine weeks I didn't learn as much as I wish, but what I did learn still fascinates me today.
