Assignment 9 Lucy Ferguson

Although wars are bad and can be very harmful to society, I think they are necessary and inevitable. I think the idea of war, fighting for your country and rights, is the right concept but the violence and killing takes away from that. To me, war is the lesser of two evils. An alternative to war would not work as well because war is the best way to unite countries to fight for what they believe. In order to lessen the effects of war there could rules set against using nuclear weapons, the mass destruction of towns, or killing civilians but it is never guaranteed that these will be followed. The best thing we could do to restrict the casualties of war is to try to keep them relatively short and not fight unless it is an urgent and important cause to the people.
