What has our nation come to? Just because a man is accused of
sexual harassment by multiple women doesn't mean that they should be fired. These
men such as Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer should be given a second chance no
matter how severe their actions were. Today alone I witnessed 3 people
jaywalking and they didn't face any consequences. Why should these men who made
one or in some cases multiple mistakes face consequences if there are people
breaking laws everyday without any punishment? As a nation we need to
re-evaluate how we punish people for their actions and end the injustices these
men are facing. These accused men, just like jaywalkers, have made a mistake
and deserve to receive a second chance. In order to create equality and end the
injustice they’re facing we must either punish those who jaywalk and commit
other minor crimes or give Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer second chances.
