LAUREN CHATFIELD!!!! My excitement to write about my good
friend cannot be contained.
Freshman year English. I was having a great day. I drew a
couple of flowers on the corner of a paper and added some smiley faces on them.
The girl sitting next to me looked over and said, “Those are so cute!! I’m
having a bad day and they cheered me up.” I tore off the corner of the paper
and gave the flowers to her.
These flowers began to be known as “smile gardens”, and even
now, I draw them for Lauren when she’s having a bad day.
Lauren is bubbly, energetic, and outgoing. She is involved
in her school and community. She cares about others and their feelings. She can
always tell when someone is not feeling right. She is loving and trustworthy
and always willing to listen. To me, she is sunshine yellow. Her positive
attitude and loving heart radiates. In five years, I see her graduating college
and pursuing a successful career. She will have a dog and will love to travel.
