Assignment 23 - Julia Meadors

While most people enjoy turning on a playlist filled with many different voices, I tend to go a different route. Instead of turning on the radio, I prefer to go straight to the aux cord and turn on one of the many musicals soundtracks I own. The songs in musicals are made to flow and work with each other in order to help make a story come to life but there are a few specific songs I’ll turn to when I need to get myself motivated to get stuff done
“Guns and Ships” from the Hamilton soundtrack. This song is very upbeat and I can’t help but to dance a little bit and feel happy. This song makes you want to sing along and always gets me motivated to get my work done.
“Dead Girl Walking” from the Heathers soundtrack. This song is belted and very strong from the main character. This song pumps me up and gets me ready for the task ahead.
“In My House” from the Great Comet of 1812 soundtrack. This song is very emotional about a situation that occurred in the songs before. This song has a strong beat and is belted by the characters which makes it a really good song to be motivated by.
“Nobody” from the Bandstand soundtrack. This song brings you back to an on old swing song which makes you want to dance and helps me to motivate myself to be productive.

“I Didn’t Plan It” from the Waitress soundtrack. This song is almost entirely belted by the character Becky while talking to Jenna. The lyrics are very strong and motivating and relatable. They are all about being human and making mistakes.
