Chris Beebout Assignment 22

When it comes to unusual circumstances, I try to avoid them. Anything outside my normal routine forces me to spend (waste) time adjusting to the change, and while that process can facilitate growth every now and then, routines generally save time and enhance productivity. Therefore, I usually decide to stick within the mundane.

However, I have not proven able to avoid my own personality.

While not exactly a circumstance, my intense introversion has significantly shaped my life experiences. Less time hanging with friends has meant more time to study and chill, but I often find myself at an awkward loss in new social situations. My forces of habit cause me to infrequently try new movies and music, so my knowledge of pop culture has gone relatively undeveloped. These small, personal intricacies could easily lead to minor problems in college as I try (or don't) to find new social circles, but the more immediate problem is that grade school has been an integral part of my routines for 12 years, and adjusting to the more independent, more difficult life of college may prove challenging. So, the college that would fit best with me would be one that eases me into this new phase of life. Perhaps the first couple of weeks would be lighter on homework, specifically for the purpose of allowing students to adjust to a college routine. Many colleges probably already do this, but it's certainly something to look into nonetheless.
