Assignment 22 - Matthew Kingkade

One unique circumstance that has affected my perspective and will help me no matter what college I attend is being an only child. Being an only child has taught me how to be independent, as I have not had siblings to accompany me as I've grown up. This will help me as I go to college because I have grown up doing things on my own and going to a college without my family around me, I will already be prepared for independence. Although being an only child may benefit me, it could also make the change to college more difficult. Moving out of my own room into a dorm room that will be shared with new people will be a new experience that I have not yet had to face growing up. While this sounds easy, it could prove to be more difficult than I imagine. Either way, my growing up as an only child will affect my transition from high school to college.
