Assignment 10 Cate Clay

The inevitability of death makes it no less terrifying or traumatic. The possibility of losing a family member scares me more than anything else.
Sure, snakes and heights and spiders can bring about quite a bit of fear, but these things are simply nerve-wracking. They alarm me, but only for a few moments. The death of someone close to me is absolutely frightening because it would affect me for the rest of my life. It doesn't just mean a few seconds of terror, but instead it involves the permanent loss of an important part of my life.
You hear about death's occurrence every day, making it easier for people to disregard. But when you make an effort to truly empathize with the family members of someone that has passed away, you realize the suffering that accompanies death. The possibility of having to undergo that hardship has to be scarier than anything else.
