My name is Harris Hawkins and I am in your third hour AP Language and Composition class. As you know I am in the academy and tend to take academics seriously. Aside from this, I play baseball and basketball for Henry Clay. I've found playing sports makes it easier to succeed in advanced classes. It teaches me to use my time wisely and teaches me that procrastination is not an option. I actually tore my ACL in the middle of last basketball season and had to have surgery. Surgery and physical therapy for eight months was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It taught me that the ball is going to stop bouncing one day and grades are what really matter. Believe it or not, I am a three sport athlete. The bass fishing team is by far the most enjoyable activity I do. My fishing partner is my best friend on the basketball team and we've yet to have a top ten finish in a fishing tournament.
One thing that makes me different from everybody else is that my 12 year old brother and I run a poop scoop business. The official name of the business is "Les Fresas Caca" which means the poop brothers in English. We had ball caps made last weekend. Having the name in French makes a not very desired job sound luxurious. We have 6 clients right now and it only takes about 5 minutes to do each yard. The money is good and it is the perfect job for a busy schedule. I also umpire T-Ball and coach pitch games in the spring. Which is more difficult than it seems with crazy parents at every game. In my free time I love to fish, hike, go to my church youth group and visit my family in Michigan.
