Assignment 1 - Lizzy Wolfe

Hi, my name is Lizzy Wolfe. I like cat socks and coffee.

The first pair of cat socks I purchased was in Nashville during my favorite thing EVER – nerd camp. Vanderbilt Summer Academy is an educational camp geared toward gifted and talented learners. I basically go there to take classes and meet people who think like me. You form tight friendships, and because of this one of my closest friends lives in Florida.

Some of my friendships have also formed because of dance. I started dancing when I was three years old. It has always been something that can clear my mind. I’ve been on three competitive teams over the last six years. Due to a recent severe concussion, I will unfortunately never be able to dance on a high level again.

This concussion has also affected my academics. Reading and math have always come extremely easy to me and for the first time in my life I must put forth a lot of effort to successfully complete these activities. One of my goals for this year is to not get frustrated with myself as quickly. A brain injury is complex and the complications that come with it are not going to fix themselves over night. Getting frustrated is only going to hinder progress.

This is a link to my favorite video. It’s old but never fails to make me laugh.

This is a photo from a competition in 2015. Between my freshman and sophomore year, Henry Clay Dance received two NDTC Nationals bids, five grand champ titles, and six first place trophies.

This is a photo with my friend, Laura. We were at camp and went to a concert in Centennial Park. There were a bunch of food trucks; our favorite was Retro Sno, a snow cone truck.
