Cate Clay Assignment 19

"Twenty years from now, your will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." A few years ago my friend shared this Mark Twain quote with me. This piece of advice has stuck with me since then. I have always been pretty quiet, but this quote made me become more aware of my shyness keeping me from engaging in new and exciting experiences. It's easy for anyone to get caught up in life and remain in their comfort zone day after day, but if you don't step out every now and then, you will look back with only regret. There are of course some boring, mundane activities that you just have to fit into you schedule, like homework or cleaning, but whenever you are given the opportunity to have a fun and new experience, go for it! Later, when reflecting on this decision, you will be proud of yourself for taking a chance and "sailing away from the safe harbor."
