Assignment 19 - Isabella Matthews

“Sometimes you will feel broken. You will feel like you are covered in scars upon your very soul. But when life breaks you open you must use that opportunity to fill those wounds with gold.” Kintsugi. The art of precious scars. Kintsugi is a Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery using gold or other precious metals. My mother shared this information and piece of advice with me at one of my lower moments. She said it had helped her get through countless rough times and since then it has helped me get through quite a few too. It’s an important reminder that everything happens for a reason and you must find the good within the bad. It also points out that when something happens to leave you feeling empty you can use that as a chance to fill that emptiness and fill your life with countless wonderful things that make you a happier, better person. For that I will always hold this advice dear to my heart.
